Up: Game 3  Up: Game 3 Outline

Weighty Aesop

As you feel yourself falling into unconsciousness, you suddenly feel a strong arm reach under the blanket of adipose and grab you by the scruff of the neck, tugging you out into the open air, which you quickly gulp down like water, coughing as you pull in as much as you can. Your vision dances with spots as the oxygen returns to your system, before you begin to see clearly again, finding yourself in the grip of none other then the Alpha!

"What the HELL is going on here!" he growls, looking over the scene. At this point, Bob is a massive mound of fat filling half the kitchen. Some unfortunate wolves are pinned up against the back wall where his massive rear locks them in place. Bob however does not give anyone else a chance to speak first. "It was the omega! LOOK what he did, this PROOVES he did it!" he yells, his voice muzzled and deep as the fat of his cheeks flap, and his body rocks like jello as he waves his arms to point a bloated finger at you. "Everyone saw it!"

"What did I tell you about pursuing your accusations." Growls the Alpha. Bob tries to look innocent, though it's hard to tell what expression he is making with his features so bloated, "I didn't, he..." But the Alpha interrupts, "Even if I were so cynical as to hold the letter of the law over the spirit, which I may remind you is MINE to interpret, not yours, you have also tried to KILL one of your brothers, and endangered many others with your behavior." At this Bob manages to look sheepish, "But... he... LOOK AT ME! HE DID IT!" he whines.

"I said I would have MAX examine the situation here. Care to tell everyone what's going on?" says the Alpha, referring to the old grizzled wolf, he walks in. "Happy Brithday!" he yells to the Alpha, leaving the room in a state of confusion. "Max, it's not my Birthday. Tell everyone what you told me." Says the Alpha. "Oh sure young pup, ruin the fun of it why don't you." says Max as he walks over to you. The Alpha set you down and Max slaps you on the back, setting you wobbling, "How are things going for you?" he asks cheerfully, "Still wearing the ring I see."

You look at it, it's still there. Bob grows impatient, "What does that fatso's ring got to do with..." he yells. Suddenly the ring glows, and you see Bob's form bulge outwards a bit more before it dies down again. "What?" you say, "What was that? I thought you said this ring was helping me diet?" you cry. "Oh, I said it would help you, the rest was a little white lie. I couldn't pass up this opportunity." says Max, a grin on his face. "An opportunity for what? To turn everyone against me? To fatten up everyone? Cameron's so big he can't get out of his room!" you all but yell.

"Oh hush down you pup. Every things fine." says Max dismissing your worries. "That little ring is called the Ring of Retribution, at least it's based off one, a little over sensitive and flawed, but it suited it's purpose. Anytime anyone made fun of you, it simple moved them towards the image of what they were making fun of. Pretty neat huh?" You think about what had happened. It explained a lot, why you and the Alpha weren't growing, you had the ring and he never hung out around you due to that tradition. Cameron was hit the worst because he was around you the most. "Then of course someone tried to harm you, so it protected you with a bit of 'ironic punishment', he walks over to Bob and pokes his overflowing stomach with his cane, "Right Bob, or should we just call you Blob from now on?"

"But... why?" you ask, "Why give me this. I thought it was giving me energy to work out?" You feel a certain amount of betrayal. "To teach this little whipper snappers a lesson about how to treat the Omega." he says. The rest of the room looks at him incredulously, "Oh, don't think I never notice the last few Omega's that you've had your little games with." Max says, a tone approaching anger in his voice. "And the last one," he turns his angry gaze to Bob, "Don't think I didn't see what you did." He says accusingly, "Tying his tail to a giant boar and setting him off through the thorns. Is it any wonder he ran off!?"

Your surprised, you hadn't thought that the hazing could get that bad. Then again, everyone's been a bit preoccupied with the weight issue. "I knew you'd start pulling something like that again, so I planted the ring knowing you youngsters couldn't resist poking fun at the new kids expense." He walks away from Blob, looking very serious. "The position of Omega is a place to be endured, but also one that should be respected. In wolf packs they endure the frustrations of the pack and ease the tensions in humble submission. The packs omega is NOT the punching bag for your amusement!" He yells at the rest of the pack. "And trying to kill him!? You deserve this and more!" he yells at Bob.

"That's enough Max," says the Alpha, "I think everyone gets the point." You have mixed feeling about this. It seems like Max did it for you benefit, or at least the benefit of the pack in the long run, but it still felt a bit extreme. "Um... Max?" you ask a bit hesitantly. "There IS a way to reverse this... right?" Your a bit afraid of the answer.
