Going down...

You think for a bit, then decide to go down - the exit is on the ground floor, and you want to get out of here as soon as possible. You've had enough of magic and leprechauns and curses and whatnot.

As you descend, the air seems to get colder, and you start shivering. By the time you've reached the first level, you're breathing clouds of fog, and the floor and walls are coated in a thickening layer of ice. To make matters worse, you can't go any lower - there's a large block of ice in the way. You're going to need a way to get rid of it...

Seeing no other alternative, you decide to explore the first floor. Maybe you'll find a way to start a fire or something...
