Game 4 | Game 4 Outline |
“Um…I really don’t know what I could do…” you begin. The others seem to be slightly disappointed but accepting anyway, except for Zethall, who shoots you an acidic look. Still, Onetas invites you to stay for as long as you like, and you dutifully thank him for his hospitality.
Just then, you hear a strange noise, like giant’s footsteps, getting louder as if approaching. You all look around, unclear as to what the sound is. You hear a faint but distinct roar, thus raising further concerns. More footsteps approach and you hear the roar again, much louder this time. This prompts all of you to rush out the entranceway to behold the horrible sight of a giant monster!
The beast stands 10 feet high at the shoulder, and stands on two stocky legs. Its hands possess razor-sharp claws and its reptilian tail is thick and powerful. Most notably, on top of its huge, powerful body are three fierce heads on top of three long necks.
The beast tears the hut apart, scattering the five of you. You and Zethall quickly dart out of sight—him behind a large rock and you behind a tree. Zegie and Onetas both charge at the monster, and Meiphusis whips out a pair of daggers and also attacks. But despite their valiant efforts, the beast proves too much for them. Zegie is the first to go—the beast smashes him to the ground with its tail and crushes his ribcage with its foot. Onetas does not last much longer. When he makes the mistake of jumping to get in an attack on one of the heads, the monster catches him in its claws. Then, with a mighty throw, Onetas is hurled across the clearing. The monster quickly rushes across to where he landed, and the creature’s three heads quickly find a meal in his wounded body. Meiphusis seems to be doing better than the others, darting quickly around the beast, taking quick stabs at the monster rather than facing it outright. The creature, however, does not seem to be damaged by these attacks, only bothering with Meiphusis now that the other two have been dispatched. Still, he manages to escape the monster’s attacks quite well. It is not until about a minute and a half later that he makes his fatal mistake. While dodging the creature’s claws, he fails to notice the beast’s tail, which catches him in the ribs and sends him to the ground. The monster picks him up and tears him in half (you look away in horror and disgust).
You hear a scream of terror and look back again to see Zethall cornered by the beast. Apparently he tried to make a break for it. With a mighty slash, he is sent flying through the air straight for you. He smashes into the tree, splitting the trunk upon impact (and revealing you to the creature). The monster is instantly at the spot and crushes Zethall with its tail, then turns to you. All three heads growl menacingly as the beast advances. The creature reaches out for you, and you squeeze your eyes shut, waiting for the inevitable…
Which does not come! You hear the beast’s roar and open your eyes to see that a large sword has penetrated the monster’s hand. You look around frantically and confusedly, trying to figure out what happened. You hear a loud war cry as a strange man leaps in seemingly out of nowhere, positioning himself between you and the monster. He is tall and powerful looking, with fierce eyes and black hair, dressed in gold armor with red trim, and a white cape. He urges you to run, and you do so without hesitation. Hiding behind the ruins of the hut, you look out to see what this guy is going to try to do. The beast swipes at him with its claws, but the man ducks and jumps, ripping his sword out of the monster’s hand as he dodges the second swipe. He quickly slashes away at the beast’s underbelly, leaving several cuts. He then jumps and delivers a mighty kick to the center of the slash marks, sending the creature back a few feet. He dodges another attack, then stabs his sword into the center of the beast’s chest. The man then plunges his hand into the stab wound and rips out the monster’s heart, which he immediately cleaves in two with his blade. The monster lets out a pained roar and falls to the ground. The man stares at the beast’s corpse for a second, then puts away his sword and walks over to you.
“Are you hurt?” he asks, helping you up.
“Uh…no, I-I’m fine…” you respond nervously. “Uh, who are you?”
“I am Zetos,” responds the man. “And who might you be?”
Realizing the need to maintain the illusion of your new identity, you give Zetos the same name you ‘gave’ before: “I-I’m…Arra…”
Zetos nods and grins slightly. “Hm. So Arra, what brings you here?”
