Late Instructions

After about an hour's sleep, you wake up to find a letter in the mailbox. After collecting it you open and read it.

'We couldn't put this in the box with the stone in case it fell into the wrong hands. We believe the stone to be of alien origin, and to be millions of years old. We advise that the stone is to be housed in an airtight container. We cannot be sure if the stone is radio-active or not, so we also advise you do not touch it with your bare hands.'

Terrific. Why didn't they deliver the instructions before or at the same time? You pull on a pair of rubber gloves and rush out into the backyard.
