To Come to a Decision

"...But first, we need you to be prepared for the journey," says the scientist. He smirks.

You look around, hearing your heavy breathing. There wasn't much of a door anywhere; only the window deviding the scientists from you. It was unfair, you think. All you wanted was a job, that was all you were looking for! Something so that you could get a little extra money to use at your leasure...what would a polar bear do with money? "What are you going to do to me?" You ask. You find it very strange that you are able to talk, but don't question it. Yet. You were accostumed to your Dad telling you many weird things due to his own job. This extra information that he was a secret agent came to no surprise.

"For the next few weeks, we will train you on how to survive in an invironment as cold as the arctic. Your body can withstand the tempreture, but without proper survival skills, you won't make it out there in the wild. We will also show you how to look around."

"But what if I don't want to go?!" You exclaim. You realize this was your Dad's life you were talking about, but you did not want to risk your own. Your mind is spinning. "What if I don't want to be a polar bear?!"

"I'm afraid you don't have a choice but remain a polar bear until we find a reversal serum, which could take from a year to fifty years. We'll be nice though, and give you this option; do you want to save your father? If not, we can hold you here, and try to save him ourselves with our own men. It would be a lot more helpful with you with us, but I understand that you were thrust into this unexpectedly, and respect your decision. The choice is yours; weeks of training to save your father, or us finding a place for you while we find a serum? A zoo might do well..."

You don't want to be a zoo animal. And you're not so hot on doing something that could kill you. The only times you've ever been alone is when you were at your house, and that wasn't proper survival skills. What are you going to do?
