Festival of Laughs

A quick stroll downtown takes you to the main drag. It's obvious from far off something big is going on, judging from all the noise and laughter.

You see a father and son with spikey hair and matching orange karate outfits heading excitedly towards the noise. The father is holding a festive urn brimming with candy in one hand, and his son's hand in the other. The kid is holding what looks like a decorative back-scratcher and pulling his father along in a hurried fashion.

"What's the big event?" You ask.

"Oh, hey, stranger," the father says cheerfully, "It's the Festival of Laughs. Biggest holiday in these parts."

Laughing, the kid starts running around you, tagging your belly with the back-scratcher.

"Hey! heh heh...haah heh heh...gah!"

"Candy! Candy! Candy!" He chants. You try to defend yourself, but the kid is lightning fast, landing quick tickles all around your torso.

"I don't think he has any candy, Gohan," says the father, "He's new here."

"Oh..." the jolts stop, "Sorry. mister."

"Heh, S'okay kid. I've gotten worse today."

With a smile and a wave, he goes back to towing his dad forward. "C'mon, dad. We're gonna miss the parade!"

"Okay okay. Hey stranger," he shouts back as his son pulls him into the crowd, "best stop at a festival booth if your going to the parade. You'll need it."
