It indeed is an entrance: or rather an exit in your case. It doesn't want to open at first, but a hearty lean on it by you soon persuades it to move. The large wooden door creaks alarmingly as it opens, the hinges sounding as though they're more rust than metal. You peer outside, and discover that is still the middle of the night.
Light from the doorway spills out, revealing a badly overgrown path- more of a rutted track, leading its windy way into the undergrowth. There's a little bit of clearer scrub around the path, but the night and the forest quickly seem to take charge.
There's a fairly fresh wind in the air, reminiscent of early spring, and the world is illuminated by the silvery chill of full moon. You search your mind, trying to remember the name of this forest, or even if you saw it on the map. You're pretty certain that you didnt, which begs the question what map are you on now? You take a deep sniff, and smell old leaves, mud, yew, beech, fir and oak. A lot better to one of your space loving proportions than that stuffy old castle (not to mention its irredemably loopy inhabitants), anyway.
Hell, why not?
You try to shut the old door behind you, only to have it jam half way. This side is covered with ivy, now ripped from the wall around it. You scowl and hurl yourself against the door, which shuts with a very final rending sound. They'll have trouble getting out to follow you this way. Turning, you stride off into the peaceful shadows of the forest. You feel better already.
