Game 3 | Game 3 Outline |
You regain consciousness, and sit up, rubbing your head. Everything's dark again - you can barely see your hand in front of your face. You wave it about before your eyes, and go cross-eyed when it splits into three. You put your head in your head and wait until your headache's gone and the room stops spinning, then stand up and walk back to the human pillar. As you expected, it's gone out. You take some more pictures. Now that you've lost the night-vision the cat form gave you, you're using the light on your camera to find your way around the room. After taking pictures of the other pillars, you sit down against the wall, bored. You're trapped in here, and you're not sure when you'll get out. If you actually manage to, that is.
You realise you haven't investigated the centre of the room yet, and walk towards the centre of the circle design. You reach it quickly, and find nothing of importance except a small pesdestal with nothing on it. You look at the symbol on your right hand, then tentatively place it on the top of the pedestal. Nothing happens for a few seconds, then the pedestal lights up and your hand starts burning. You curse and try to take your hand away, but it feels like it's stuck on with superglue, and you can only watch as smoke curls off your smouldering fingers. The symbol on the floor glows, lighting up the rest of the room, and the pain in your hand peaks. You try to take your hand away again, but like before, it's stuck. Then it catches fire. You scream and wrestle with your arm, but nothing can tear it away or stop the arcane fire from travelling up your arm. It stops at your shoulder, and suddenly your hand is released. You stumble backwards, desperately trying to put out the flames on your arm. When you finally do, your arm is badly charred and you can't move your fingers.
You look around the room, cradling your injured arm, and try to see if the pedestal did anything. All the symbols on the floor and walls are lit with an eerie blue light, and the pillars are glowing brighter. You turn back to the pedestal, which is still smoking, and watch as it sinks into the ground, fading without a trace. That was pretty much useless. The pain in your arm has faded, and you inspect the damage. To your surprise, it's fully healed, although the fire has left more arcane symbols spiralling up from your hand. You take a few more pictures of the room and your arm, then search the room for an exit. There's nothing. No passages, no switches, nothing. You're still trapped.
