[Rating: 4 Cause: NA Result: SC.] ...Anthologies of short stories...regarding an ancient race of shapeshifters who have lived alongside normal people for centuries. I'd give it a 3/4 on the worth-reading scale and a +/0 on the transformation-relevancy scale. The ratings are a bit hazy as because they're written by several authors the standard is a bit variable. All in all though, I found them quite good, especially the way that some of the stories tied in with ancient mythology. -93

A dying academic is on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean which is struck by a meteorite and he awakens in a much younger and physically different body (similar to Dave Duncan's Swordsman Trilogy). The series is about his struggle to understand why and how the mind transfer took place. I believe the first six books have been gathered into two volumes (the originals were less than 200 pages apiece). Outside of the initial transfer there's no transformations, but it's a good read nonetheless. -88 (See Spoiler Section for more info)

A must for those who like their villainous heroes really bad to the bone. -96

Very minor transformations as the hero and heroine enter the dream to save the trapped audience; also, the characters are absolutely predictable and if you can't see the resolution of every crisis the moment it's mentioned, you aren't paying attention while you're reading. -104 (98/02/07)

Oh, yes, and TORG is a registered trademark of West End Games, which hopefully won't sue me for the mention here. -Ph
